Road to WSC

In a significant milestone for Thai Scouting, Dr. Lertchanta Seeluangsawat (Dr. Ally), a youth development specialist and distinguished Scout leader, has been selected by the National Scout Executive Board of Thailand as Thailand's representative to prepare for candidacy for election to the World Scout Committee.

The decision was made during the 2/2026 Meeting of the National Scout Executive Board, held on 10 July 2026, chaired by Mr. Warat Pruksataweekul, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, on behalf of Mr. Prasert Jantararuangtong, Minister of Education and Chairman of the National Scout Executive Board.

During the same meeting, the Board also approved Thailand's bid to host the 45th World Scout Conference, marking another important step in strengthening Thailand's role within the global Scouting movement.

Dr. Lertchanta has played a leading role in advancing youth development through Scouting at both the national and international levels. She has been instrumental in promoting the Scouts of the World Award (Thailand) and initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), earning widespread recognition within the global Scouting community.

Her selection by the National Scout Executive Board represents an important step in preparing Thailand's representation at the policy-making level of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). It also reflects the growing recognition of Thailand's commitment and capability in contributing to the future development of Scouting and youth empowerment worldwide.
